It’s time for Soccer! We start off this season with Basha’s home opener against Hamilton High School. Fought under the chill of the Fall night air, it was a well played game but just a bit better played by Hamilton than Basha…

Hamilton at Basha – Freshmen

October 19th, 2011

Even at the Freshmen level, Hamilton is the big game of the year and Basha started out looking good putting 6 unanswered points on the board and keeping Hamilton scoreless for the first half. Unfortunately, the second half was all Hamilton who put 2 into the end zone and kept Basha scoreless for the rest of the game sealing their victory.

Basha Freshmen at Perry

October 13th, 2011

This week the Basha Boys head to Perry High School to face the Pumas. Basha’s first half was working well – Offense was putting points on the board while their defense was effective in keeping the Pumas out of the endzone. They went into halftime with 31-7 lead. The second half was a different story, the Puma’s defense shutdown Basha while their offense was moving the ball and finding the endzone. Pumas were back in the game and entered the 4th quarter 21-31 – Basha’s defense was starting to look tired and the Pumas were still moving the ball well, but the boys dug down deep and battled effectively to keep their lead and go home with a 28-38 victory.

Queen Creek Bulldogs at Basha

October 8th, 2011

Basha had a tough time this week with a loss at all levels, So this Saturday’s victory over the Queen Creek Bulldogs was this week’s only win for Basha.  Basha’s defense came to play keeping the Bulldogs from gaining any kind of offensive momentum and putting their share a points on the board with a pick 6 in the 2nd quarter.

DRHS Back Juking past Basha Defense

Basha Freshmen travel cross town this week to face the Desert Ridge Jaguars. While the game started out looking good for the Bears who put up the first points with a field goal in their opening drive, the Jaguars’ running game proved unstoppable. The Jaguars’ defensive line was impressive as well keeping the pressure on the Bears’ QB and keeping them scoreless for the remainder of the 1st half. Things got better for the Bears in the 2nd half but it was too little too late and the Bears left the field with a 27-10 loss.

Chander Prep JHS hosts Glendale Prep

Chandler Prep JHS Football hosted Glendale Prep this week but didn’t have enough ‘D’ to stop the run in a 22-0 loss. Impressive running by several GPA running backs as well as a one man train in their QB who needed a CPA swarm to get him down every time he carried the ball.

The second game by the ‘Youngers’ was equally impressive but this time all the scoring went to CPA Titans who seem to have the whole package in an awesome display of offense as well as putting the brakes on GPA’s ability to score.
