STYFL Junior High Opener

The Junior High STYFL Special Forces open the season against the Anthem Wolfpack. The Forces were the first to put the points on the board and really appeared to dominate the first half with a running game that was just amazing to watch. The Forces’ defense was equally as tough, forcing 3 turnovers – and keeping the Wolfpack  from mounting any sort of momentum until the second half. Where in the 4th quarter, it looked as though the ‘Pack  found some weaknesses and really started to move the ball with several big pass receptions that got them in the end zone. They followed that up with some strong defensive play that showed they were there to win. But Ultimately, the Forces’ running game was just too ferocious to be answered by the ‘Pack.

Season Opener at Gilbert Christian

After dominating the season last year, the Gilbert Christian Knights come into the 2010 Fall season with only one returning player. Their season opener was against a relatively new school, Anthem Prep, who made the trek out to the East Valley to put their skills to the test. Physically, the boys looked equally matched and played through their first game jitters to put on one great game of football. In the end, Gilbert Christian’s sidelines would be the ones cheering in victory.
