Had a great season everyone, I really enjoyed taking pics of all our stars. Here’s a little slide show of some snaps I took of pre and post game activites at the season closer. Enjoy…
The Chargers faced a rematch with the Devils for the closing game of the season. The Devils, were one of the few teams to beat the Chargers and came into this game undefeated – Would their streak be broken?
Just as in the first game, the Devils showed their strength – an incredible set of disciplined linemen that just fired off the snap and pretty much had their way with the Chargers. Both in the air and on the ground the Devils put the points on board early. Putting the Chargers down 15 – 0 at halftime.
The Chargers weren’t done yet though, coming out of halftime with fire in their hearts. Coach Matthew’s made some adjustments on defense that paid off, turning #9 Devin Massey into an animal, putting the pressure on the Devils QB and shutting the door on their running game, and helping my favorite player, Ryan Shaffer execute a critical defensive take-away and run it all the way back for the score.
With the momentum of the Defensive score, Coach Jason started moving his Offense with purpose and put another 7 on the board. The game really turned around and the Chargers were executing perfectly – Could Coach pull off two come-from-behind-wins in one day? Sadly no.
The final whistle of the season blew and found the Chargers still behind – but only in points. I think I speak for every parent out there when I say how truly proud we are of how these boys carried themselves, grew as a team, and played with every ounce of their soul – every game this season.
In the end its not all points and records but character that builds true Champions. – Well done boys!
Coming into this game with a 3 game winning streak, the Chargers met their match in a team called the Wolves. The Wolves had some real strong players and it took about the entire Chargers defense to bring their big man down. The kids showed a lot of heart, play after play, pouring every last ounce of effort and strength to contain the Wolves running game. The Chargers were not without their highlights though as seen above as game ball recipient #2 Dillon Dotson runs the bootleg in for 6. As always click the picture above to head to the Galleries.
Right on the heels of the Dragons’ photos, I finished the Charger Graphics and all photos are now available in my Portraits Gallery. Just click on the picture above to jump right in.
A note when on the Combo Memorymates shown here, the picture you select from the gallery will be placed in the left panel, the larger right panel will always be the team picture. Team pictures with graphics are also available separately in the gallery. If you have any questions just email me at photo@10framesasecond.com
Important: In order for me to have time to process the orders and print all the pictures and have them ready for coach to hand out on the last game of the season, I’ll need all orders in by this Saturday Nov. 3rd. All orders placed after that will processed for mail delivery and the appropriate shipping charges will need to be added – so order early and save some $.
Note: There is a problem with my online order taking system that does not allow me to put in descriptions of the packages so here is what comes with each package:
The Chargers came into week 6 with a bit of a size disadvantage, but that didn’t phase them. This picture sort of sums up the match up as #14 Giovanni Baez, one of the Chargers smaller players, what he lacks in size, he more than makes up for in tenacity as shown here, laying the ‘stiff arm’ and pushing by the Tiger’s ‘big-guy’. #21 of the Tigers was definitely a dangerous weapon and could have easily made this a one sided game but it came down to the Charger’s well organized Defense that shut down several key running plays that allowed them to ultimately hold on to the lead. Excellent game boys!
WHAT A BATTLE! Tied at 6-6 for much of the game, these kids really played their socks off, some of the best execution I’ve seen all season both defense and offense – for both teams. I really regretting arriving late in the second quarter from shooting soccer. I can only imagine the excitement I missed.
I did manage to make it in time to see Chargers game ball winner, #7 Kyle Stroh, use his ‘crazy legs’ to juke his way into the end zone. And my favorite player, #1 Ryan Shaffer putting the ‘hurt’ on the Wildcats Offense with some Monster sacks.
Coming off a disappointing loss last week, the Chargers come back ‘on fire’. Coach Jason was on the mark with some excellent play calling – sending the team on an ‘passing assault’, connecting with this week’s game ball recipient, #15 Kenny Owens, for the opening touchdown. While the scoring continued throughout the game, it was really the defense that saw a huge improvement this week. The kids were really firing off the snap, putting blue shirts in the back field, applying pressure on the Scorpion’s quarterback and stopping any kind of running game. Unfortunately, It was such an exciting game I did more cheering that picture taking!
Sorry for the late post as well, I got home last night and realized my camera’s memory card was missing! So early Sunday morning, I had the whole family out doing a ‘CSI’ sweep of the field. Luck would have it that we found the card laying on the sidelines, right where I must have dropped it. Whew!
A tough game for the Chargers this week. Failing to contain the Bulldog’s rocket of a back #9 Gabler, the Chargers found themselves trailing early in the game. I really gotta hand it to those kids, as they came out of the half time huddle and really played some football, a great kickoff return that put chargers into scoring position, a big time sack, and a phenomenal defensive take away by #7 Stroh. But in the end it just wasn’t enough to match the ‘A-game’ brought by the Bulldogs. Great game kids – enjoy the pics.
The Season’s 2nd week of gameplay opens up with a well played game between the Tigers and the Chargers this week. With the Tigers running back the opening kick off for a touchdown and intercepting the Chargers on the first play of their possesion, it started looking like a one sided game. However, Chargers soon answered back with a few drives of their own that found them in the endzone. But in the end it was the Chargers’ ferocious defense that decided the fate of the game, keeping the Tigers out of the endzone and ultimately intercepting a goaline pass on the final play of the game – and running it all the way back for a touchdown. Well done kids. Click the picture above to see some highlights.
Alright, the first game of the season is behind us. And what a game it was! All the kids did an excellent job for the opening game. There were plenty of kids that brought their ‘game face’ today – I think a I caught a few in the act. As usual, the game is split up into to galleries, one for each team, but feel free to browse both you may see some of your kids action in the background of the other teams pics…
