In the Studio with Angelika

June 21st, 2011

After all the location work we’ve been doing, it was a nice change of pace to get back indoors for some Studio work. Angelika was a wonderful subject and we were able to come away with some really nice shots by the end of our session.

Lions and Softballs and Bears, oh my!

May 15th, 2011

After getting knocked out in last years playoffs, the Basha Bears were back in the hunt for another State Championship this year… its 3rd time in the last 4 seasons. Although the Bears got off to an early lead of 3-0, the lions made a tremendous comeback to take the lead in the 4th and was able to hold Basha to just one more run ending the game at 5-4 for Red Mountains 2nd championship title two years running. With the Lions 2010/2011 back to back titles coupled with the Bears own in 2008/2009 not to mention a State Runner-up for each, what we have here folks is truly a high school Dynasty with every 5A-I school looking to knock them out. Knowing that Basha will have 5 returning players as seniors next season and a bunch of (now) seasoned Frosh and Soph’s, uhm… yeah.

Anyhow, thanks for yet another exciting Championship game ladies and congratulations to both teams for well earned titles.

Had some twilight fun in downtown Chandler doing a street bike shoot – Chandler City hall provided the backdrop, lit like the Vegas Strip and a lot less crowed than a skate park – we got some cool images.

Congratulations to Keith Garcia for his performance at the 3 Gun Nation Shootoff held in Mesa, AZ during the Superstition Mystery Mountain 3 Gun Competition. He successfully knocked out all other competitors for a second year in a row taking home the first place plaque and a check for $5,000 – not bad for 40 seconds worth of work…

Basha Bears vs Westwood Warriors

January 21st, 2011

Although late in the season, we cover our first HS Soccer game and all I can say is WOW! what a great game to shoot. Basha quickly drew first blood with an early goal put in by a  high jumping header from #11 Austin Horton and a second goal only 6 minutes later by #14 Nick Mazzaferro. Eventually, the Warriors will come back with a goal of their own and when a tying goal gets over-ruled after a late call by an Asst. Referee, Westwoods Coach got IRATE. With security standing between him and the ref’s, he eventually gets kicked out of the game. He never got a chance to see their tying goal finally come around nor the 2 overtimes, or the penalty shoot-out where Westwood eventually bested Basha. All that AND an entertaining half-time conducted by a huge group of elementary ‘Future Players’.
